Three Energy Therapies You Must Know for Your Life to Be Everything it Could Be – Part 3 of 4

If you’ve read parts one and two, you were introduced to how energy therapies can contribute to your continued emotional health and well-being.
Part two introduced the first of three of these, called
“EFT” (Emotional Freedom Techniques), which involves a special method of
tapping on very specific acupuncture points, in order to get relief from the
subconscious emotional energy stored in the body.
The next of the three energy therapies we are doing to take
a look at, is a wonderful technique called “TAT.”
TAT – Tapas Acupressure Technique
TAT was developed by a woman named Tapas Fleming. (That’s
her first name in the first “T” of “TAT”.)
It involves lightly touching a small number of acupuncture
points (but holding the touch, instead of tapping, thus why it’s called
“acupressure”) while thinking of the distressful situation, and then some other
thoughts related to its resolution.
TAT is an EXTREMELY effective tool on emotional trauma. The
combination of points and the method she uses really helps to remove the
“sting” of the effects, while the body is readjusting and realigning from the
experience that was so traumatic.
I have used TAT a number of times on myself,f and have
worked with it on others, and can say it’s extremely effective in this.
TAT is SO potent, however, that the developer limits its
recommended use to 15 minutes per day. A limitation that could seriously damper
the forward momentum needed if you were dealing with multiple traumas on
multiple levels like I was due to my very intense breakdown.
Nonetheless, it’s still an effective tool to have in your
arsenal.
The combination of TAT and EFT is a very good pair of tools
to have in your inner work tool box, because unlike EFT, which focuses on
specific events, TAT does well with more general topics or issues.
So, knowing this, it would seem like this combination of
tools would take you “all the way there,” right?
In theory, this would be so.
But the combination of having to do a physical process (tap
or hold certain points on the body) makes it less accessible in public
situations. And with EFT having to get very specific, and TAT only being
“officially” do-able for 15 minutes per day, there can be a lot of gaps in your
day, where you would have to experience distress or difficulty longer than you
need.
So something else is needed to fill the gaps to be able to
take it all the way.
The next modality could certainly do that, and has none of
the limitations of the two processes. It is completely done mentally, thus
removing the accessibility issue with the other two, and has no limitation as
to how often it could be used in a day’s time.
I still recommend TAT to my private clients, as is still a
valuable tool to have in our “inner tool box.” Please see www.tatlife.com for a free e-book on “How to
do TAT”.
